Audience Research analysis

I collected my audience research by creating a survey with http://www.surveymonkey.com/ I then copied the link to my survey and sent it to females aged between 17 and 25 by email. Once I had recieved 20 completed set of results, I created pie charts using Microsoft Excel 2010. Because I saved the spreadsheet as a PDF I was abble to upload it onto http://issuu.com/. This website allowed me to blog my spreadsheet to show my results in a visual way on my blog.

Over 50% of the people that I asked Said that they buy fashion magazines because of this I will create my magazine to look like a fashion magazine. A high percentage of people would like to see interviews with musicians, music reviews, who's hot and charts. Because of this my cover lines will relate to these topics. A quarter of the audience said that they count shopping as a hobby. They said that they would like to see a mixture of text and pictures. Most of the people that took the survey said that they spend their money on shopping, make-up and perfumes. They said that they mostly liked female and male artists so my cover and cover lines will relate to solo artists as apposed to bands.

A critisism of my results is that I only collected 20 completed surveys; if I had collected more results my audience research would have been more valid. All of my questions were closed questions with a choice of answers that would cover the main choices. I chose to use closed questions as it would give me a direct comparisson of what people would like to see. Whereas, if I had used open questions I would have a mass of data that I would not be compare effectively or efficiently.
